Mary is a self-taught artist, with a life long interest in art. In 1999 she began working with watercolors. Her work has been exhibited in local and regional shows where she has won various awards. Mary is a member of Women Painters of Washington, Renton Creative Arts, South Hill Artists, and a Signature Member of Northwest Watercolor Society, where she is currently serving as a board member. Painting with watercolors and acrylics has now become a full-time occupation for her. Her watercolors are uniquely realistic, using bright colors to catch the viewer's eye, from vivid foliage and floral, to architecture and domestic cats. She creates rich earth toned abstracts with her acrylic and paper collage technique. When summer comes you'll find her busy in her booth at one of the local art festivals, painting and visiting with people.
